The biggest night of the year in TNA comes around again and there's no guessing who's in the main event. Sting has been a regular at the top of the bill for the past few years and the show usually ends with his holding the World title aloft. There's a lot more to 'Bound For Glory' though than that particular icon doing his best in the main event. There's title matches galore here and it all kicks off with another Bound For Glory mainstay as the X-Division title is decided in an Ultimate X match as Amazing Red defends his belt against Suicide, Alex Shelly, Chris Sabin, Homicide and Chris Daniels (obviously having a bit of time off from wearing a certain mask). This is a great way to kick off the PPV in the most unique match TNA have ever developed. Two Knockouts title matches feature on the PPV at a time when the division was pretty hot. ODB puts her title on the line against Awesome Kong and Tara while the tag belts are defended by Taylor Wilde and Sarita against The Beautiful People. Solid matches from one of the best women's divisions in the world. Tag action sees both the IWGP and TNA tag belts on the line as Booker T and Scott Steiner face The British Invasion, Team 3D and Beer Money in a Full Metal Mayhem bout (yep another of the top TNA gimmick matches). There's been better matches of this ilk but there's enough action here to keep fans going. That's not quite the story in the Legends title match as Kevin Nash defends against Hernandez and Eric Young but at least Nash allows the young guys to get a fair share of the match.
Mick Foley and Abyss I guess were destined to find themselves in a Monsters Ball match and with Dr. Stevie as referee this won't disappoint hardcore fans. I'm not too keen on MMA rearing its head in pro wrestling but I'm sure there's some people out there who will lick their lips at the Submission match between Samoa Joe and Bobby Lashley. Kurt Angle probably deseved a much better match on the card than a bout against Matt Morgan but his less experienced opponent puts up a pretty good display. So to the main event and another World Heavyweight title shot for Sting, this time against AJ Styles. Could this really be the icons final match? Hey this is pro wrestling, no one ever knows when it's someone's last match. This is another strong match and a worthy main event. Extras include the meet and greet held before the show, pre-match and post show press conferences and a 30 minute preview of the card and an interview with Sting.
